Inspiration comes in many forms and from many sources. Heath Morrell of Ez Air’ Fx near St. John, NB drew his inspiration from the pages of his favourite comics. “Comic books were childhood passions of mine,” Heath explains, “Some of my first drawings were mimics of what I saw in the pages of those graphic novels. It was my father that first introduced me to the airbrush.” With practice, Heath soon developed a feel for the airbrush and started designing custom t-shirts for everyone at his high school.

“A lot of my early works were smaller pieces since I was just starting out and trying to make a name for myself.” As his skill and reputation grew, Heath soon moved from t-shirts at his high school to tattoos in small clubs. In 2001, Heath opened up his own shop, Ez Air’ Fx, and now paints the finest in custom bikes, cars and trucks. Professional sports teams even have custom painted masks and helmets sporting the Ez touch.

Heath’s reputation has spread far and wide, with regular calls from customers in Europe entrusting him with their prized possessions. A phone call or email is a direct line to Heath himself, so potential customers can discuss all aspects of the process and make an educated decision. “I feel good in knowing that my work and my personality–be it through e-mail or on the phone–has given my first-time clients a sense of security in handing over their items and allowing me to make them into one-off originals.”
