Charlie’s Indian Day Stops, Chrome on the Canal Begins

January 1 2009

The organizers of ‘Charlie’s Indian Day’ have announced that after 25 years, the event will no longer continue. However, in an effort to keep up the momentum of the past 25 years, a new group of local riding citizens are using the same weekend, Saturday July 4th, 2009 to hold a new event in Campbellford, Ontario called ‘Chrome on the Canal’.

The organizers of Chrome on the Canal hope to get the word out of the new event so that the hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts that have gathered along the banks of the Trent Severn Waterway in the past will continue to visit the town during the first weekend of July.

According to Sue Dempsey, one of the organizers of Chrome on the Canal, “The town is behind us and some restaurants will be offering specials. We are looking for more vendors and hoping this years event will be bigger and better”.

For more information, call Sue at 705-653-3413.
