The New Liskeard Bikers Reunion experienced record numbers this past July by attracting over 5,500 motorcycles from all over North America and Europe. In addition to all of the bikers that came to the beautiful shores of Lake Temiskaming, there were thousands of spectators that took part in the many different activities and thrill shows.

Among the many events that took place this year was the very exciting Human Cannonball Jennifer Schneider, who blasted out of her cannon to the cheers of the amazed crowd. Also the Dominguez family and their Globe of Death that at one time had four motorcycles in a round cage and kept spectators glued to their seats. Competitors from far and wide competed in the Strongman Competition and was another big success this year, drawing huge crowds. For the bikers who came in early, the traditional early bird ride was very well attended as we visited small Northern communities in our area. Yamaha, Harley-Davidson and Honda were in attendance with demo rides. Vendor Alley was packed with all different types of merchants selling their products. Live music played all weekend long, and the soothing bonfire in the evenings on the shores of Lake Temiskaming added a nice backdrop for the Canada Day fireworks celebration.

The ‘Terry Phippen Memorial Freedom Ride’ this year was the largest ever, with 19 kilometres of motorcycles. They were greeted by thousands of people lining the streets waving Canadian flags and ‘Welcome Bikers’ signs. The parade went through five different communities, ending with a stop at the hospital to greet the patients and nurses.

To date we have raised $390,000 for the Temiskaming Hospital Cancer Care Centre.
