European Vacation – June 9
We are still in Germany. Were hoping to get into Austria today but got stuck on an Autobahn for 3.5 hours due to an accident. Luckily bikes are allowed to split lanes so we rode 5K through parked traffic to get to the front of the line. Then had a nap on the tarmac of the autobahn in the shade of a transport truck. Stopped for the night at 8:45 pm and plan to leave very early on the 10th to make up for lost time. Speeds are stupid fast here. We ride between 135 and 155 km per hour and cars pass us like we are standing still. Must keep a close watch in mirror as Audi’s pass us like squids on sport bikes.
