It’s unlikely that you’ll find the Cupertino, California, offices of Ducati North America stocked with bottles of Spumante Bambino. However, had chilled bottles of the bubbly wine been available earlier this week, there would have been cause for Ducati staff to uncork a few in celebration.

For the second month in a row, Ducati NA claims that against a backdrop of slumping industry wide sales volumes they have managed a significant increase in sales for North America, 24 percent for the month of August alone. Although citing a strengthening dealer network and sales promotions as contributing factors to the increase, Ducati NA was quick to point out the significance of recent new model introductions such as the Monster 796 and 848EVO Superbike as other influences to the positive trend.

Based on the continuing popularity of their new Multistrada 1200 S, Ducati NA is saying they’re going to be cautiously optimistic about sales over the next few months. At Motorcycle Mojo, we’re also going to be cautiously optimistic; we’ll be using the new high-tech Multistrada later this month for a backroads tour and see for ourselves if it lives up to its hype. Watch for a full review of Ducati’s updated adventure tourer in an upcoming issue of Motorcycle Mojo Magazine.
