Ducati North America reported today a retail sales growth of eight percent in the third quarter, and nine percent in the fourth quarter of 2010. In particular they cited December as being an extremely favourable month with a 35 percent increase in sales over the same period in 2009.

The continued good fortunes of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer coincides with their highest-ever market share at the close of 2010 and counters the industry trend of slumping sales. Ducati attributes the success to a combination of new products, improved dealer network support and aggressive marketing campaigns. In 2010, Ducati introduced the Hypermotard 796, Hypermotard 1100EVO, Monster 696 ABS, Monster 796, 848EVO Superbike, 1198S Corse Superbike and the Multistrada 1200.

“We are very satisfied with Q3 and Q4 results,” said Cristiano Silei, CEO of Ducati North America. “These achievements mark the turning point for Ducati in North America, and we are extremely excited about our potential for 2011 with the arrival of the Diavel.”
