In celebration of Best Western’s 65th birthday and to help kick-off the 2011 riding season, the hotel chain has announced a photo contest that is to be hosted on their Facebook page and is only open to motorcyclists. With more than 1,200 rider-friendly hotels in Canada and the United States, Best Western wants to promote that they’re happy catering to the needs of the travelling two-wheel crowd.

To enter the photo contest, motorcyclists only need to park in front of a Best Western hotel and take a photo of their bike with the hotel’s sign in the background. The photo should then be uploaded to the Best Western Facebook page (www.facebook.com/BestWestern), from which three winners will be drawn each week between now and July 15. Weekly winners will receive 5,000 Best Western Rewards points and one grand prize winner will receive 65,000 points, all of which can be redeemed for items such as free hotel stays, gift cards, and airline miles.

To be eligible to enter the contest you have to be an existing Best Western Ride Rewards program member. New members can sign up for the free loyalty program for motorcyclists at www.bwrider.com or by calling 1-888-BW2BIKE.

Best Western is also partnered with Harley-Davidson to provide special services for Harley owners staying at their hotels. These services include discounted room rates, a wipe-down towel at check-in and the use of a bike cleaning station. Some hotel locations will also provide riders with reserved parking spaces, bottled water and lip balm. Complementing the Best Western Ride Rewards programme, all motorcyclists are free to use the Harley-Davidson Ride Planner tool, which allows riders to plan a riding adventure and book Best Western rooms located along the way.
