Everyone loves a Parade
The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the return of the Bike Week Appreciation Parade. The community sponsored parade went on a six year hiatus in 2005 when the Daytona 200 race was moved from Sunday to Saturday.
The parade, which had been a regular fixture of Daytona Bike Week for decades, returns this year in the hope that once again tens of thousands of fans will line the parade route.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade ride should meet at the Ocean Center on Saturday, March 17, between 6:00 and 7:00 am. The police-escorted ride, which is a small part of the World’s Largest Motorcycle Event, is scheduled to leave the Ocean Center at 9:00 am. The planned route will take riders on a 10 km tour through the city to the Daytona International Speedway, where for $20 they will have the option of using the Budweiser Party Porch to watch the Daytona 200 unfold.
