Rear Rim Recall
Ducati has initiated a second recall of the Monster 1100 EVO within a month. Transport Canada Recall #2012076 states that 101 imported units manufactured between January 2011 and January 2012 will require a rear wheel swap.
The affected rear rims are marked with the code number DU6-RR and are said to have defective spokes, which over time can potentially develop cracks leading to a complete failure of the rim. You can imagine the rest.
Ducati is notifying Monster owners of the required service and local dealers will replace the rear wheel free of charge.
Just over two weeks ago, the Monster 1100 EVO had been the subject of another recall (TCR #2012055) that required a fuel line replacement for 94 units in Canada.
