Getting into Drag
The Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association (CMDRA) is holding its second round of the 2012 National Series this weekend at the Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP).
The event, which runs from June 1 to 2, encompasses 14 motorcycle drag racing categories including the headlining Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Harley-Davidson Nitro Harley division. The feature category is known for its motorcycles that propel riders through the quarter-mile in under seven seconds at speeds of over 230 mph.
Some of the best Nitro Harley racers in the world will be competing in the event, including the top five Canadians in the category such as Alberta’s Kevin Boyer and British Columbia’s Damian Cownden, the current defending CMDRA champion.
Many of the series’ racers have claimed that they’re looking forward to running at TMP because of its reputation of being a fast venue.
As a side note, budding racers should be attending the race in droves as a free race school will be held on the first day of the competition.
