Canadian actor Keanu Reeves has partnered with bike builder Gard Hollinger to found the California-based Arch Motorcycle Company.

Reeves, a long-time motorcycle enthusiast, first contacted Hollinger several years ago to build a custom bike. That motorcycle, based on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide, would eventually morph into the KR GT-1 Prototype.

Hollinger has ample experience building motorcycles and currently runs a dealership, a custom shop and parts business. His motorcycles have been featured in several custom motorcycle exhibits and competitions throughout the U.S. and in the U.K., including Discovery Channel’s Great Biker Build Off.

The KR GT-1 Prototype has taken five years to see fruition. Originally a one-off custom, the pair has decided to make a production version. The production version is currently in the industrial design process and testing of a finalized version is scheduled early in 2013. The bike will be produced in very limited numbers.
