Erik Buell Racing gets backing from GE Capital, as the finance company announces it will provide inventory financing for potential dealers.

Founded in 2009 by Erik Buell after Harley-Davidson pulled the plug on Buell motorcycles, Erik Buell Racing (EBR) is a small American sport bike manufacturer based in East Troy, Wisconsin.

GE Capital announced on Dec. 7 that it will provide inventory financing, otherwise known as floorplan financing, to EBR dealers. This allows dealers to get motorcycles onto their showroom floor and to stock parts on a finance plan.

This opens the door for new dealers or existing dealers of other brands to take interest in EBR motorcycles. In 2011, GE Capital provided almost $32 billion in financial support to more than 30,000 companies in North America.

The first motorcycle produced by EBR was the 1190RS, a 175 hp V-twin supersport machine, of which 100 were produced in 2011. At least three more models are planned for release in the future.
