Costa Mouzouris has just returned from Spain, where he rode the redesigned Ducati Hypermotard.

The latest iteration of the Hypermotard, which was originally introduced in 2007, is completely redesigned. A liquid-cooled Testastretta engine replaces the air-cooled V-twin of the former bike.

It now displaces 821 cc, and is the only displacement available. Previously a 1,098 cc version and an 803 cc version were available. Also new is a redesigned chassis, with revised steering geometry that improves stability.

One of the biggest customer complaints of the previous model was the limited range the 12.4-litre fuel tank provided. Fuel capacity has been increased to 16 litres on the new machine.

Two versions are available; the $12,995 standard model, and the higher spec SP with upgraded suspension, lighter wheels and carbon fibre goodies for $15,695. Adjustable traction control and ABS are standard on both models.
