Paul Teutul Sr. has filed for bankruptcy for the merchandising division of  the company he founded, Orange County Choppers.

Hudson Valley Merchandising, LLC, owned by Paul Teutul Sr., is the company responsible for the development and distribution of Orange County Choppers merchandise.

Teutul Sr. filed for bankruptcy protection last week. The company, based in Newburgh, NY,  holds $1.12 million in assets but has a debt load of $1.44 million.

Hudson Valley Merchandising is now in the hands of trustee Paul L. Banner who will oversee the sale of the company’s assets and the payment to creditors.

The American Choppers reality television show, which featured Teutul Sr. and his son Paul Jr.,  was cancelled last December after a 10-year run. Custom bike manufacturer Orange County Choppers Holdings has not filed for bankruptcy protection.
