Confederation Collage Drops Rider Training Program
Rider Training Program Cancelled In Thunder Bay
Confederation Collage of Thunder Bay has announced they will no longer offer their Motorcycle Training Course. As a result, former Chief Instructor, Greg Stein is attempting to step in and save the program.
The collage’s website states, “Although conversations with community members, including Greg Stein, continue about the future of the motorcycle training program, we regret to advise that the program will not be operated by Confederation College as it has traditionally been offered.
This decision was not made lightly. A number of factors were considered, including the realignment of our limited resources to core business areas of the College, in addition to health and safety concerns.
We would like to thank Greg and the community partners who have come forward and are investigating the potential for the program to continue using a different delivery model.
Interested parties can contact Greg at (807) 627-7011.”
According to several sources, a group of individuals, including Mr. Stein, have already approached Confederation Collage in regards to utilizing their existing fleet of motorcycles, classroom space and parking lot facilities to continue offering a rider training program.
There are currently no other facilities offering these services to riders in the Thunder Bay region, with Sault Ste. Marie being the next closest option.
Motorcycle Mojo will update the status of this situation as soon as a new plan is in place.
