Guy Martin Returns To Racing
After some time out of the saddle, Guy Martin has announced his return to racing and the Isle of Man TT for 2017. He’s now a proud member of the Factory Honda race team along side John McGuinness, who has won the TT 23 times, and is just three victories shy of Joey Dunlop’s record.
While many have questioned the competitiveness of the Honda platform over the last several years, there’s more optimism for 2017 and new Fireblade. This dynamic duo will be riding the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2, which has a little more power and a complete electronics package.
Guy Martin has found victory at many venues, and has reach the second and third step of the TT podium a combined 15-times but has never tasted victory on the Island.
Perhaps this year he can steel one away from McGuinness, though that’s going to be a tall order with them riding the same machinery. In either case, Martin now has the opportunity to gauge his abilities against perhaps the greatest TT rider in history, on an even playing field.
Here’s a look at the new dream team chumming around as posted on the Honda Pro Racing Facebook page – communication between the two teams shouldn’t be an issue as it appears they speak the same language.
