KTM releases the 890 Duke R Pricing and specs
KTM has released the 890 Duke R – the lightweight, compact, nimble model has been given the name the Super Scalpel.
The parallel-twin engine derived from the 790 Duke has an increased bore and stroke, higher compression ratio and rpm limit, along with larger valves and new piston design. KTM has also redesigned the crankshaft with 20% more rotating mass for improved engine smoothness at speed and cornering stability due to the gyroscopic effect.
The new box piston features a 10-gram weight reduction despite that larger bore, as well as three piston rings and a bronze conrod bearing to support increased RPM and power. Building on performance, the bike is equipped with Brembo brakes and WP Apex full adjustable suspension.
The new 890 Duke R has new ergonomic positioning designed for an aggressive and more forward riding position, giving the rider increased agility for on and off the track. The Duke R is equipped with updated lean-angle sensitive MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control) now with a wheelslip and pitch angle controller to offer advanced traction control behaviour. The 890 Duke R has four different ride modes, Sport, Street, Rain as well as an optional track mode that includes 9-level adjustable traction control, launch control, and the option to turn the anti-wheelie function off.
The KTM 890 Duke R produces 121 hp and 99 Nm of torque, the model will be priced at $12,599, you should expect to see the new Duke R on floors in April or May 2020
