September/October 2019

Yamaha has produced the YZF-R3 for a few years now, but the 2019 model has a few new features. The YZF-R3 has proven its worthiness time and again, both on the street and on the track in the CSBK Amateur Lightweight Sport Bike series. The list of changes for the 2019 model is small, but a couple of those changes are significant. We bring you the latest information and a rider’s impression of this sub-400 cc, adult-sized motorcycle on the street and on the track.
At the other end of the power scale is the 2019 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT. Heavily revised versus its previous incarnation, KTM built this bike to reflect its brand identity and leaned heavily on the sport side of sport-tour genre. Alan Cathcart gives his report of the changes to the Super Duke GT that make it “the most radical long-distance sports-tourer in the marketplace.”
Our travel features in this issue include the Duffey Loop, one of British Columbia’s greatest day rides. Beginning and ending in Vancouver, this comprehensive description of the loop describes the roads, where the speed traps are, where to get fuel, where to eat and so much more. You need to read this if you ride, or plan to ride, in B.C.’s Lower Mainland.
There is also one rider’s account of when something goes wrong on a motorcycle trip, there always seem to be some good come out of it – a silver lining emerges from the storm cloud, if you will.
These are just a few of the interesting articles in the September/October issue of Motorcycle Mojo magazine.
